What is Drag Racing?
Drag Racing is a type of Motor racing that usually takes place between two opponents at a time on the straight and short course of the track. This track has 3 different lengths depending on the standard or race’s organizers. One that is most common is Quarter-mile (¼ mile, 1,320ft., 402m.) track. Another one that is growing its name in the Drag racing industry is its shorter version that is 1000ft or 305m long in distance. This shorter track has made its name and is now a standard for official Top Fuel Dragster and Funny Car Racing.
Another adoption of this race track is ⅛ miles track (660ft, 202m). This track is already popular in some circles. In Drag racing, the winning rule is same as other races, whoever crosses the finish line first is the winner. Since 1920, electronic measurements for the time and speed of the cars are being used to get the result as close and as clear as possible.

1. Top Fuel Dragster (TF/ D):
This is also called Diggers is the fastest class in the drag racing. These cars fall into the category of Fastest Accelerating Machines in the world. The fuel these cars use is Methanol mixed with 90% of Nitromethane. These cars reach the top speed of 530kmpl (330 mph).
2. Top Fuel Funny Car (TF/ FC):
These cars are shorter than the Dragster and are called funny-car or ‘Floppers’. But misjudge it by its name, this car is still so fast that its G force can knock you out while driving the car. It only takes 4.0 seconds, 0.3 seconds behind Dragsters) to complete the track with a top speed of 315 mph.
3. Pro Stocks:
Nickname for this beast category is “Factory Hot Rods”. These cars look have to stay close to their factory stock model this is why these cars are called Pro-Stock. Another name that this category got it “Doorslammers”. These cars can cover the quarter-mile track in just 6.0 seconds with a top speed of 340 kmph (210mph).
4. Top Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car:
Cars of this category runs into the FIA Competition. These cars look like the Top Fuel cars but what makes them different from them is the style of using Fuel. It uses a supercharged Methanol-Burning engine and injected nitromethane combination. In TA/ FC use of Methanol fuel is strictly restricted and must have a 3-speed transmissions engine.
5. Sports Front Wheel Drive (SFWD):
This category is fully focused on the cars that are powered by the front-wheel-drive engine. This category has some restriction rules, like No changes in original chassis, no modification in the OEM floorboard of the car and firewall is permitted. All 4 breaks must be retained and parachutes are compulsory. Here in this section Nitrous Oxide and Turbocharge are allowed to increase the engine power.
